Holidays in the provinces and territories (in addition to Canada's holidays)
Our individual provinces and territories
celebrate these holidays separate from one another.

In Ontario is the Civic Holiday and is celebrated the first Monday of August.

In Quebec, National Day is on June 24.

Nova Scotia has Natal Day, the first Monday of August,
except in Halifax where it varies from year to year,
it is usually July or August.

New Brunswick celebrates New Brunswick Day on the first Monday of August.

Manitoba holds their Civic Holiday the first Monday of August.

British Columbia holds British Columbia Day the first Monday of August.

Prince Edward Island holds Natal Day
by proclamation,
is usually on first Monday of August.

Saskatchewan is a Civic Holiday held the first Monday of August.

Alberta has Alberta Family Day on the third Monday of February
and Heritage Day on the first Monday of August.

Newfoundland has quite a few,
and are celebrated on the nearest Monday:
St. Patrick's Day - March 17
St. George's Day - April 23
Discovery Day - June 24
Memorial Day - July 1
Orangemen's Day - July 12
Regatta Day / Civic Holiday is fixed by municipal council orders.

Northwest Territories has a Civic Holiday on the first Monday of August.

Yukon holds a Discovery Day on the third Monday of August.

Most are held on the first Monday of August,
it is a time to reflect on our Heritage, and discovery,
it is our Civic duty to remember who we are
and from where we have come.
We are Canadians, celebrate,
it is important to remember.
