Framing your Pictures Tutorial

:: Tutorial Terms ::

Open a New Image 500 x 500, transparent 16.7 Million Colors

Colors Foreground white Background black
Styles solid, gradient
Set the gradient to the following

Flood fill with white, add a new raster layer (this is the one you will be working on.)

Using the graphic of your choice, copy and paste as a new layer.

Select your eraser and following the lines around the graphic, remove unwanted parts of the pic.
Depending on how much you take away, will be your final result.
This is what I ended up with

Change your background to colour #c8aa40

Click on the Magic Wand, and get those ants marching around your graphic,
Selections - Invert
Selections - Modify expand 10
Add a new Raster Layer
Using Flood fill- Colour with the Foreground white, and then the background colour
**Note - Your graphic has disappeared, not to worry it is behind and will be brought forward in a minute.**

Select Inner Bevel - these are the settings and the colour #b09f10

**Note - The width here is how much you expanded the graphic, and can be adjusted if you expanded 20**

Now bring your graphic forward, fits perfectly.

Deselect the frame, Go to the graphic Layer, Using the Magic wand touch and Invert, you want the ants marching around your graphic once again.
Using Drop Shadow Colour #808080, and these settings

Do the Drop Shadow again, Except Change the Vertical and Horizontal to -1, Minus One.

De-select.
Click on the Glasses in your Layer Palette so that the background, (white) has disappeared, go to Layers, Merge Visable.
Copy, and Paste as a New Image.
Save as a gif so the background is transparent.
Beautiful!!

Have some fun.
