Christmas Tree Tutorial

Christmas Tree Tutorial

Open a New Image 500 x 500, transparent 16.7 Million Colors

With the Selection tool, draw out starting at 100 by 150, draw out the triangle to 190 by 300.
Flood fill with White, #ffffff
Add a new Raster Layer

De-select.
***I'm going to use all free tubes from Jasc,
they are a free download Here.

Using the tube Spruce at size 50,
touch along the outside of the triangle,
make sure you get one that is right-side-up on the top.

Does it look like a tree? This is my results.

Add a new Raster Layer, *it is easier to take away an ornament, if you are not happy with it.
Okay, go to the Tubes tool and find the:
Ornaments, size 30.
Little lights, size 20
Candy Canes, size 25, if you hang them on your tree at home.
Using Rope size 26, and a shakie hand give your tree some garland.
Snowflake, size 10

How's it looking, do you need some more decorations?
Or is there enough?
We still have to add the star on top.
If you a satisfied, now is the time to go to Layers, Merge Visible

Add a new Raster Layer.
First go to Selections Tool, choose Star 1.
How do you want you star to be?
Draw out the size on the top of your tree.
Go to the Tubes Tool and using Metalic Confetti adding enough to fill your star,
with lots of gold and silver, just gold or just silver, you decide.
Still looks pretty flat, ok, go to the Inner Bevel
and with the following settings, watch your star get dimension.

Layers, Merge Visible.
Copy, Paste as a new Image.
Save as a gif or if you want to use the tree for future, save it as a png.
Now of course you can stop,
you have a beautiful little Christmas Tree,
you can also continue,
add some presents, make the lights twinkle, add snow,
it's all up to you.

Have a very Merry Christmas.

December 9, 2002
Have some fun.
